If you could reopen 1 pub or nightclub
Which one would it be and why?

Kings in Seven kings for me. Use to love the boxing and the comedians on a Sunday afternoon. Saturday night wasn’t a bad night either.

I too played at the Spotted Dog, either Sunday League Cup Finals or against Clapton.

It used to be a fine non-league ground, now almost derelict, although Clapton FC still stagger on there.

Gone are the Isthmian Premier League days, Div 2 South of the Eastern Counties League.

They do have a hard-core following of anarchist loons called the Clapton Ultras as an away following.

Can concur regarding The Grapes still being open ... was in there with Mrs Soldo a couple of months ago... not been for a few years so was shocked to see that bloody statue in the Thames (full tide)... luckily I had not had too much to drink... think it was the idea of the owner (Sir Ian McKellan)... anyway lovely riverside boozer... bit better than the Ramsgate but behind the Whitby for me.

My great uncle Stan had the coach and horses in the 60’s or early 70’s.
Still got a few bits from the pub up in the loft from when he died.
Went in there a few times late 90’s but was a shithole by then.
Will prob be turned into a mosque if it hasn’t already.
Black lion over the road is still alright.
Decent seafood stall outside as well.

And the Aunt Sally (Burdett road) hosted some rave nights.

Space in Ibiza was my favourite club there. I didn't know Bora Bora was finished.
Still plenty of decent clubs around and lots of good rave parties, in fact there are more than ever.

I played on Clapton football ground in a cup final as a young kid. We lost to Riverhawks.

Cunts always beat us, they were fucking good though. Jimmy Tibbs Jr played for them, he was a good footballer when young. Likable kid too.

Spotted Dog, in Upton Lane. A really old pub, with a lot of history and a football ground.
Sentimental reasons too. My first pint and playing for Clapton youth team.

We used to go the Two puddings late 80s and 90s mostly after West Ham games but occasionally for a trip out.
Others in the Plaistow area we used to frequent included the Railway Toby Tavern and Canteen
We also ended up in the Beckton arms once or twice.
I think I've done most of the pubs in Stratford now which are ok but match days normally just stop off around Liverpool Street or Farringdon these days.
